Both apps
Give your archive room to grow
Local drives, external storage, and a backup you can trust.
Choose dependable storage
Use a destination that stays connected during transfers and recordings. Check free space before starting a long session. A cloud-synced folder is not the same as direct-to-cloud recording.
Allow working space
Media tools can need temporary space while processing. Leave headroom beyond the expected final file size. Stop new work before your destination fills up.
Keep cloud copies separate
When using a sync client, let the app finish writing before relying on an uploaded copy. Verify the cloud file opens before removing any local copy. Do not put an active catalogue database in a folder that multiple computers edit.
Back up the whole picture
Keep a second copy of your media and a catalogue backup. Test restoring a small collection before you need to restore the entire archive.
